The paper presents a processual-naturalistic psychological model of spiritual experience as an adaptive and developmental phenomenon of an universal nature. This proposal aims to abstract the psychological category of spirituality from different cultural contexts and place it in the context of psychological phenomena. It combines the proposals of David Hay, Hugh Gash, and Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi, placing the phenomenologically explored experience in the context of a psychological attempt to clarify the phenomenon of individual experience by Marek Majczyna and Krzysztof Krzyżewski, as well as the concept of unintentional ways of coping by George E. Vaillant. It was originally proposed as an effect and conclusion of the psychological interpretation of phenomena observed in the qualitative study conducted within a group of cases that do not meet Paweł Socha’s or Crystal C. Park models of spirituality predictions. Therefore, this conceptualization also constitutes a clarification and development of previous models.
